A high-level production under high tension
Multiple needs, a rapidly growing content production
The ECPAD (Establishment for Communication and Audiovisual Production of Defence), linked to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, is a public administrative establishment with multiple missions: production of images (photos, videos), preservation of audiovisual archives of Defence, cultural promotion, and training. The audiovisual production division, led by Maxence Carion, comprises 80 professionals and carries out around 300 audiovisual productions each year for the highest state authorities: the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the Prime Minister, the Presidency of the Republic…
Management challenges to overcome
Faced with an intense pace combining planned productions and urgent orders (600 shoots, 67 hours of live broadcasting, 40,000 photos per year), the department had to meet several challenges: streamline the flow of information between teams, reduce double data entry, access schedules on the go, and improve productivity across the entire project management process.
Smartevo: a tailored solution to industrialise processes
A radical change in practices
After a study phase in June 2024, Smartevo was gradually deployed, ultimately replacing the previous tool (Visual Planning) by the end of December 2024. The solution helped to structure workflows, centralise information, and achieve nearly 40% productivity gains for the audiovisual teams at ECPAD.
Support tailored to specific constraints
The deployment was accompanied by tailored monitoring, in direct connection with the Smartevo teams, allowing for the adaptation of certain modules to the specific needs of the Defence sector. The tool now enables clear and structured management of projects, accessible at any time, so that mobile teams can easily follow, contribute, and validate, wherever they are.
